Dr. Kenneth Shrable
Over the last few years, Ken became a friend through the electronic medium of the WEB. We have discussed our views with each other and others on discussion lists associated with the Churches of Christ and the Restoration Movement on many occasions. I think you will discover when reading the papers I have posted below that Ken was a true scholar and an early leader in the rethinking of traditional gender roles in the church. The following papers from the 1996 Pepperdine University Bible Lectureship are in Adobe pdf and will require Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to open the file.
On August 11, 2004, at 10:45 P.M., Ken's spirit left his body on his journey to Heaven. His wife, Linda, has said Ken prayed fervently the last few days of his life to be able to pour out his life and be filled with God's Spirit. I know that he is now experiencing the joy of Christ's presence in a place so wonderful our Lord called it Paradise. I really miss my discussions with Ken and look forward to the day that we will meet face to face.
